The El Morro area often has mild winters but 3" - 5" snows are typical, with the majority melting off by the end of the day.  We are located just off HWY 53, county snow plows can usually maintain our access to both nearby towns, Grants and Gallup, each on I-40. All of this makes a winter rental of one of our Cabins a lovely winter getaway.

Even during the winter there are many things to do locally. Have a delicious breakfast or lunch at the Cafe. The Old School Gallery across the street hosts numerous events throughout the year, from concerts and open mics, to festivals, dinners, and art showings. Winter is a great time to take in the quiet and appreciate this pristine and sacred land. You will gain a perspective very different from the busier summer months.

We’ve added compact fridges, dishes, cooking utensils and gas BBQ grills to each cabin. Groceries are available in Grants, Gallup, and Zuni, and Ramah has limited grocery availability. Additional restaurants are available nearby in Ramah, Zuni, Gallup, and Grants.
